On Tuesday, October 9, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and continuing until 12:00 noon, 55 college students from University of St. Francis will join 6th, 7th, and 8th grade young people in their classrooms at Miami Middle School, 8100 Amherst Drive, Fort Wayne.

These college students will share JA middle school programs filled with economic and personal financial literacy learning activities during the school-wide JA in a Day. The all-school focus increases student excitement and enhances their learning and retention as hands-on activities immediately build upon one another.

The Miami Middle School students are among the first to benefit from new JA in a Day activities that are the result of Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana’s “Making It Relevant” effort. This innovation focuses on locally modifying current JA middle school programs to include enhancements that will make the learning activities relevant to the challenging economic circumstances being experienced by children and their families.
